3 Arbon, Jean-Pierre
Après avoir été le directeur général des éditions Flammarion, Jean-Pierre Arbon co-fonde en mai 1998 avec Bruno de Sa Moreira, directeur de Flammarion Multimédia, les éditions 00h00 (www.00h00.com), premier éditeur au monde à vendre des livres numériques. Le nom de 00h00 (qui se prononce "zéro heure") est choisi à dessein pour évoquer "cette idée d’origine, de nouveau départ", en faisant le pari de concilier édition électronique et commerce. Pas de stock, pas de contrainte physique de distribution, mais un très beau site, sur lequel on lit: "Internet est un lieu sans passé, où ce que l’on fait ne s’évalue pas par rapport à une tradition. Il y faut inventer de nouvelles manières de faire les choses." Les éditions 00h00 cessent leur activité en juin 2003, après avoir exploré un parcours encore inédit. 00h00 se voulait "une maison d’édition d’un genre nouveau, la première au monde à tenter à grande échelle l’aventure de l’édition en ligne. Tout était à faire, à inventer. L’édition numérique était terra incognita: on explorait, on défrichait." (Arbon, octobre 2006) A 50 ans, Jean-Pierre Arbon débute une carrière de chanteur, sous le nom d’Arbon. Il est désormais auteur, compositeur et interprète.
